Novel H1N1 Influenza (formerly called Swine Flu)Click here to view update 8/12/2009
- As of June 9, 2009 according to the Dutchess County Department of Health, H1N1 has now been documented as widespread in Dutchess County, particularly in school- age populations. DCDOH may request swab sampling in certain cases to help establish the scope of infection within school settings.
- To date, we know that there are 18 laboratory cases of H1N1 in Dutchess County. All 50 State and the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico have reported cases of swine flu as of June 3, 2009. The vast majority of Americans who have had HIN1 have experienced mild to moderate symptoms similar to ordinary seasonal influenza and have recovered at home.
